How To Make Cold Brew Tea – Chai Ghai

Iced Tea Brewing Guide (Individual Serving):

  1. Place 1 full teaspoon per serving of Chai Ghai's loose tea (or Chai Ghai tea bag) into a teapot.
  2. Using filtered or freshly drawn hot water, pour in 170-200ml (6-7oz) per serving into the teapot.
  3. Cover and let steep for 7 minutes.
  4. Add Ice into to a 375ml (12oz) acrylic glass filled with ice.
  5. Add the hot from the teapot into the acrylic glass filled with ice using a strainer. Note: Not all of the tea will fit, creating an additional ½ serving.
  6. Add milk and sweeten to taste.
  7. Sip & Enjoy.

A rule of thumb when preparing freshly brewed iced tea is to increase the strength when making the hot tea since it will be poured over ice and further diluted with cold water. (Note: Some luxury quality teas may turn cloudy when poured over ice which is a sign of its quality and nothing to worry about!)

 

Iced Tea Brewing Guide (Full Pitcher):

  1. Place 6 slightly heaping teaspoons of Chai Ghai's loose tea (or Chai Ghai's tea bags) into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher.
  2. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1¼ cups (315ml) over the tea in the teapot /pitcher.
  3. Steep for 7 minutes.
  4. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water.
  5. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher, strain and then remove the bag.
  6. Add ice, milk and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste.
  7. Sip & Enjoy.
