Namaste

“I am another you, and you are another me. And the journey continues. Namaste.”

- Timber Hawkeye

May your spirit blossom like the flowers and may your smile grow alongside the plants.  We would like to say Namaste to everyone as we look back on March, which was another great month at Chai Ghai. We started off the month by honouring Women’s History Month and pledging $2 from every purchase to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre for the entire month. This seva was very important to us, and we raised a considerable amount of money for them. We also partnered with Fairmont hotels and resorts to do a fun March Madness contest. The winner are announced below. Finally, we are pleased to announce a new member to the Chai Ghai family, Woodstone Manor on Galiano Island. Namaste to you all, the light in you shines bright in us.

 Welcome to the Family

We are pleased to reveal that Chai Ghai can be found at Woodstone Manor on Galiano Island, a premiere destination for a getaway or vacation in the Southern Gulf Islands. Situated on 9 acres surrounded by forest, Woodstone Manor offers a tranquil place to relax and unwind away from city life. Woodstone Manor also includes free transportation to and from the BC Ferries terminal or Montague Harbour Marina for guests or diners. Galiano Island itself features beautiful beaches at which to swim, kayak or sail as well as majestic scenery for hiking, painting or picnicking. The restaurant and lounge at Woodstone Manor features one of the best dining experiences in British Columbia, with fresh food and delicious desserts prepared by a world class chef. The lounge and patio are open until 10:30pm nightly, featuring a cozy fireplace and magnificent open woodland views. The manor also boasts incredible ultra-luxurious rooms and accommodations. Chai Ghai is happy that our vibes are now included in this experience and hope that they can further add to the relaxation and tranquility that Woodstone Manor specializes in. Namaste Woodstone Manor, and welcome to the Chai Ghai family.

Downtown Eastside Women's Center

Chai Ghai has been lucky enough to share a relationship with the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and will continue to do so moving into the future. In March to honour Women’s History Month we gave the DEWC $2 from every Chai Ghai purchase to help them buy necessities for the many women they help on a daily basis. Whether it is cash, clothing or various types of toiletries, donations can be made online or dropped off at one of their 3 downtown locations. All donations are welcome and go a long way in supporting vulnerable women in the downtown eastside. The DEWC has been active in the downtown eastside since 1978 and is a place of support and safety in a community that sorely needs it. They offer a place to stay, hot meals, communication and other essentials to over 700 women including children and seniors every day. We respect and admire what they do to keep women safe and healthy with an opportunity to gain better education and mentorship in a secure environment, which will help to make their lives less difficult. Namaste to everyone who helped us support DEWC this month, we are humbled by your love.

  March Madness Giveaway

We were pleased to partner with Waddup Canada and Sarah Wickett to offer our loyal Chai Ghai family and their followers an opportunity to win 1 of 2 gift cards for $250 to the Fairmont hotels and resorts. We had a very large amount of participants but could only declare two winners. The winners were Sarah Ferguson and Kathryn Pylyp. Congrats to both of you, and thanks to everyone who participated. Stay tuned for more fun contests as the year unfolds.

Festivals

March is notorious in Indian culture for the festival of colours, Holi. We were pleased to offer an amazing sale this year, as well a lot of information on what exactly the festival is all about. Part of our goal at Chai Ghai is bring Indian culture to Canada intact to enlighten our followers on the culture that inspired our business. In April, we will be offering a Vaisakhi sale, and also will further explain exactly what Vaisakhi is. There is no shortage of celebrations, and we are very happy to continue to include you in them as they arrive. In Surrey, BC, the largest Vaisakhi celebration in the world is held every year, and we look forward to participating in the festivities this year.

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

As the universe goes through a renewal process during spring, we want to wish all of our Chai Ghai family renewal and regrowth in  the spring season. We hope that chai will help to colour your spirit and set your aura aflame with its ability to both heal and inspire. We move into April with a warm cup of chai in our hands to regrow alongside the beauty of our planet. Namaste.
